Hiy̓ám̓ Housing Society - Chenkw Em̓út | Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation

This project involves the design and construction of a 100-unit residential development located in North Vancouver, incorporating one level of underground parking and a multi-purpose amenity space. The unit mix is designed to support a diverse community, including 50 Elders’ units (one- and two-bedroom, with 5% fully accessible), 20 youth-oriented studio units, and 30 family units (two- and three-bedroom).

The development is a hybrid system consisting of cross-laminated timber (CLT) floors on steel stud walls, supported by a concrete parkade. The total suspended structural area of the apartment building is approximately 86,000 ft², comprising roughly 66,000 ft² of wood-frame construction and 20,000 ft² of concrete. An additional 23,000 ft² of suspended structure is allocated to associated townhome units and a grocery store component.
